The earth shook as the skies darkened overhead.
From silence to deafness hell broke loose where we tread.
Like a ship lost at sea the carpet pulled from my feet.
I was knocked to the ground as my ears began to bleed.

The sky burnt black, my eyes can’t see.
Choking on air, struggling to breathe.

Eyes glazed by the glare of the display set before me.
With grit of dirt in my teeth I fear the end is near me.
Forward I pressed on though my life was far from certain.
My lungs filled with the earth that had once been neath my feet.
